Cells Limited is a leading provider for the safe storage of stem cells. We provide storage of stem cells derived from the umbilical cord blood as well as storage of cord tissue. Cells Limited is the UK partner of Cryo-Save, the largest European Family Cord Blood Bank.

The safety protocol of Cells Limited complies with Human Tissue Authority (HTA) Directions: Maternal blood is tested by serology and cord blood is tested by PCR; the simultaneous PCR therefore no follow up screening is required after 6 months.

Our laboratory processes cord blood with the Sepax system from the Swiss company Biosafe. Sepax is an automated cell separation system which relies on a light beam to sense the density gradient between different cell layers after the blood has been spun in a centrifuge. The final sample is divided into two blood bags and stored at two locations.

As of Nov 2022, Cryo-Save laboratories has stored 200,000 cord blood samples. And has released 10 cord blood samples for medical therapies.
